MAPLE VALLEY SWIM TEAM

*If it is a Saturday morning home meet, lane lines and flags may get setup by the guards on Friday night.

1. Lane Lines - empty rack sits next to scorers table behind the blocks.  Cover gets stored in the garage.
2. Backstroke Flags and Poles - both located in swim team shed.  Longer line goes across the deep end.
3. Ladders and Steps - Remove all ladders and place out of the way to not allow anyone to play on them during the meet.  They can be stored somewhere nearby where they will easily be placed back into the pool.  ex: deep end ladders - place behind the upper deck, shallow end ladders place along side upper deck near swim team shed, ladder near Starter place in corner where scorers sit.  The steps need to be taken out carefully as this can be tricky because of bulk.  It will be easier if someone was in the water lifting the unit while someone else out of the water is lifting at the same time.  
4. Spectator Chairs lined up along the side of the pool, 2 rows for MV and 2 rows for visitor(side next to upper deck)
5. Scorer's Tables and Chairs - 2 picnic tables plus a folding table located inside garage and set up in "U" shape.  Blue folding chairs located in swim team shed. The announcer, who will be using same tables, needs a chair also. (2) Scorer's box of supplies located in swim team shed, on the left on shelves.  Table covers in plastic bin to cover these tables.  Bring both boxes to scorer's area.
6. (3) Canopy - 2 over scorer's tables, 1 over ready bench area
7. Ready Benches  - 4 (or 5?) benches set up between the slide and diving board.  Needs a canopy.
8. (4) Place Judge chairs - set up at each corner of the pool: 1 next to starter in 5ft end, 1 in between guard stand and slide, 2 in shallow end on each corner.
9. Ropes, Cones, and Umbrellas - Ropes and cones located in swim team shed.  Place cones approximately 2.5-3ft around perimeter of pool (not deep end). and rope off. This allows stroke and turn officials room to walk up and down the pool. Umbrellas are set up in between chairs for shade.
10. Set Up Starter -  Starter stands located in swim team shed.  Put one on each end of the pool.  The starter is located on the desk in the office. Put one chair next to stand in 5ft end to hold event number binder. (place judge chair should be next to that chair in the corner)  Starter's box of supplies located in swim team shed.  Bring box and set it on the white bench next to scorer's tables.  Starter will take it from there.  
11. Set Up Announcer - Microphone located in the office on the shelves next to radio.  Turn on all controls for microphone.  Microphone gets placed on the end of the scorers table and plugged into receptacle inside the garage on the left.  Be sure there is a chair.
12. Lane Numbers - located in swim team shed, on the left, bottom shelf on top of green container.  Each number hangs on the fence behind the proper lane. (lane 1 closest to building and lane 5 next to deep end)
13. Bathroom and Trash Cans - be sure each trash can isn't full and has a liner.  Check bathroom for cleanliness and supplies are replenished  - guards can be assigned this task.
14. Volunteer Check In - be sure to check in with Volunteer Coordinator if you're timing to receive a watch.  All other volunteers take your places.
15. Snack Bar - Cooler for case of water on ice for officials and timers set up near scorers table. Gas grills have gas. Coolers in swim team shed.  Menu posted.
16. National Anthem - either music or find someone who will sing.
