Sat Jul 18	Swim Team Banquet Maple Valley Start: 6:00 PM End: 9:00 PM All swimmers and their families, grandparents included, are welcome to attend the banquet to celebrate the swimmers accomplishments. Dinner will be served along with drinks and cake. Homemade desserts are always welcome. The awards ceremony and raffle baskets will be held after dinner. We will have swimming competitions between the parents and swimmers after the award ceremony. All 1 lap races. A signup sheet will be going around that night (good old fashioned paper) Be sure to bring your suits and steal goggles from your kids. Registered swimmers are complimentary. Adults 12 years and older will be $14 ea, siblings 5-11 years old will be $9 ea, children 4 years and younger are free. Payment may be made by cash, check or Venmo @MVKillerWhales and given to Tracey McAllister or Kim Griffin. Please RSVP here for this event no later than July 11. Payment due by July 15 @MVKillerWhales, cash, or check. Sat Jul 18	Championships Western Family YMCA, 2600 Capitol Tr, Newark, DE 19711 Start: 9:00 AM Warm-up: 7:30 AM We are sitting next to the entrance from Meadowood parking lot, same spot as last year. Bring canopies and chairs. It will be tight. Timer SignUP HERE All swimmers who placed in the top 16 in Time Trials will swim in Championships! This is a great meet! Swimmers arrive at 7:15am(or earlier) for warm-up at 7:30am. Look for our team location, maybe ask the front gate for a map of teams locations. Entry Fees: (competing swimmers free) Ages 11 & Over, with program: $5.00 Ages 7-10, no program: $1.00 Ages 6 & Under: Free Extra Program(s): $2.00 ea. General Admission w/out program: $3.00 CASH ONLY Swimmers find the MV canopy and sit with the team. Bring a canopy and chairs. Stay in the shade.
Wed Jul 15	Time Trials 13-18 Penn Acres Swim Club, 30 Fithian Dr, New Castle, DE 19720 Start: 4:30 PM End: 8:30 PM (estimated) Arrival time: 3:15PM We are required to provide (1) volunteers for this meet. SignUP Genius HERE Volunteers can work the first half or second half of the meet. Entry Fees: (13-18's competing swimmers, officials, coaches, and timers are free) Ages 11 & Over, with program: $5.00 Ages 6-10, no program: $1.00 Ages 5 & Under: Free Extra Program(s): $2.00 ea. General Admission w/out program: $3.00 Cash Only A canopy will be set up adjacent to the baby pool in the grass. Parents and swimmers bring chairs and a canopy if you have one, and plan to sit with the swimmers. There will be allowed to stand and watch your swimmers race. Any swimmers who place in the top 16 in that event will advance to Championships on 7/18. Rain date: Thursday 7/16 and will be announced when necessary. Coaches will post event requests the first week in July and will be due by Friday, July 3 at 12:00pm. Swimmers 13-18 years old will swim up to (3) events. All swimmers are expected to participate as this gives them an excellent opportunity to swim against the other teams in the league. Qualifying times are not required. We see many swimmers do their best times because it is an exciting meet.
Tue Jul 14	Time Trials 11-12 Crestmoor Swim Club, 640 W Summit Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804 Start: 5:30 PM End: 8:30 PM (estimated) ARRIVAL TIME: 3:45PM We are required to provide (2) volunteers for this meet. 11-12's Timer Sign up HERE. Volunteers can work the first half or second half of the meet. Timers do not need to pay an entry fee, but should check in at Admissions. Entry Fees: (11-12's competing swimmers, coaches, officials, and timers are free) Ages 11 & Over, with program: $5.00 Ages 6-10, no program: $1.00 Ages 5 & Under: Free Extra Program(s): $2.00 ea. General Admission w/out program: $3.00 Cash Only A canopy will be set up in the field for our team. Parents and swimmers bring chairs and a canopy if you have one, and plan to sit with the swimmers. There will be chairs by the pool to watch your swimmers race. Swimmers may be dropped off at the front entrance of the pool. Following parking attendants instructions. The meet begins at 5:30PM. Doors open at ? PM for Officials, Coaches, Swimmers and Spectators. Warm-ups begin at 4:20PM. Concessions will be sold using a ticket system. Tickets will be sold for $1 each. Sat Jul 11	Persimmon Creek Persimmon Creek Swim Club, 428 Arbour Dr, Newark, DE 19713 Start: 9:00 AM Warm-up: 8:30 AM End: 12:00 PM Everyone arrive by 8:15am and check in with the coach at the gate. Parking is limited and will likely be parking in front of peoples houses. Please be mindful to not park on their grass or block their driveways. Warm-up at 8:30am. This is the last dual meet, so make it good! Shade will be scarce so be sure to bring a canopy or umbrella. Please pick up all trash, put chairs back where they were, and take home all of your belongings. Deadline to RSVP is Thursday, July 9 at 12:00pm. If you miss the deadline, coaches will assume your swimmer(s) will not be attending. Line-up will be posted on Friday at noon.
Wed Jul 8	Penn Acres Penn Acres Swim Club, 30 Fithian Dr, New Castle, DE 19720 Start: 6:00 PM Warm-up: 5:30 PM End: 9:00 PM (estimated) Everyone arrive no later than 5:15pm and check-in with the coach at the entrance. Warm-up at 5:30 sharp. Proper behavior is expected by all swimmers no matter at the ready bench, bathrooms, and behind the blocks. All MV families are expected to clean up our area and put their chairs back the way you found it before leaving. Deadline to RSVP is Monday, July 6 by 12:00pm. If you miss the deadlines coaches will assume your swimmer(s) will not be attending. Line-up will be posted on SwimTopia by Tuesday an noon.
Tue Jul 7	Movie Day! 🎥🍿 Main Street Movies 5, 230 E. Main St, Newark Start: 1:10 PM End: 3:10 PM (estimated) Join us for a fun team outing to see Toy Story 5 on Tuesday, July 7, at 1:10 PM! Movie begins at 1:20pm. The swim team will provide tickets for all swimmers. Family members are welcome to join us, and we ask the younger children be accompanied by a parent. Please RSVP for your swimmer(s) only so we can reserve the correct number of team tickets. All RSVPs must be received by July 3. We hope your swimmers can join us for an afternoon of fun, laughs, and team camaraderie!
Sat Jul 4	Cardboard Regatta Maple Valley Happy Independence Day! You ready for the 5th Annual Cardboard Regatta? Make a boat ONLY using cardboard and duct tape. Paint, foam, and glue are NOT allowed. Prizes for the fastest boat, team spirit and the Titanic award. Park your boat by 4pm. Last years champion, Amy, has officially retired from competition. Who will be this year's winner? Come celebrate the day at the pool and enjoy the festivities! Hope to see everyone there!
Fri Jul 3	No Practice
Wed Jul 1	Fairfield at Maple Valley Start: 6:00 PM Warm-up: 5:30 PM End: 9:00 PM (estimated) All 6U & 8U families please arrive by 4:15pm to help set up the pool. Snack bar workers, please arrive by 4:15 to help set up the snack bar. Everyone else please arrive by 5:00 pm and check-in with the coach at the front desk Warm-up at 5:15 sharp. Front parking lot will be for Fairfield. SUV's and trucks please park in the backyard. Sedans can park at Levizos Realtor lot and the grassy area adjacent to that building. Swim hard and do you best! Everyone stays until the end with a closing cheer and handshakes. All families are expected to help put away swim meet equipment, clean up trash, chairs and umbrella's back where they belong. Picnic area also cleaned up and tables put back where they belong. Deadline to RSVP is Saturday, June 29 at 12:00pm. If you miss the deadline, coaches will assume your swimmer(s) will not be attending. Line-up will be posted on SwimTopia on Tuesday at noon.
