Tue Jun 11 2024	Evening Practices Begin (Tues & Thurs) Start: 6:00 PM End: 7:00 PM Evening practices will be held on Tuesday's and Thursday's starting on 6/11/24 until 7/11/24. These are available if your swimmer is unable to attend morning practices or they would like more time in the pool practicing. These practices are for all age groups. Two lanes will be roped off for swimmers as the members will have access to the rest of the pool. Be sure to bring all of your practice gear.

Thu Jun 6 2024	Time Trials - All Swimmers Maple Valley Pool Start: 6:00 PM End: 7:30 PM All swimmers will be expected to attend "in house" time trials. This allows the coaches to have a time for several events for all of the swimmers to use as a guide for the first couple of meets. All swimmers will have a warm-up and then coaches will organize everyone in their lanes. Kids will practice starts with the starter system as if it was a meet. We ask for a few parents to stick around to time.
Tue May 28 2024	First Practice - All Age Groups for the Next 2 Weeks Maple Valley Pool Start: 6:00 PM End: 7:30 PM Here we go! Practice is for all age groups. Baby Whales (5-6yo) will swim approximately 45 minutes. There will be a swim evaluation for all new swimmers. The first two weeks of practice will be held from 6-7:30pm; 1st Week: 5/28,29,30 and 2nd Week 6/3,4,5,6. No practice on Friday 5/31 and 6/7 as the pool is open to members 4-8pm.
Sat Jul 22 2023	Swim Team Banquet Maple Valley Pool Start: 5:00 PM End: 9:00 PM All swimmers and their families, grandparents included, are welcome to attend the banquet to celebrate the swimmers accomplishments. Dinner will be served along with drinks and cake. Homemade desserts are always welcome. The awards ceremony will be held after dinner. Adults 12 years and older will be $13 ea, child 5-11 years old will be $8 ea, children 4 years and younger are free. Payment may be made by cash, check or Venmo @MVKillerWhales and given to Heather or Stacy. Please RSVP here for this event no later than June 20. A sign up sheet will be posted on the swim team board. Ticket sales for raffle baskets will be sold before dinner and the winners will be announced after the award ceremony. General Admission w/out program: $2.00 Cash Only Swimmers find the MV canopy and sit with the team. Bring a canopy and chairs. Stay in the shade.

Sat Jul 15 2023	At Fairfield Fairfield Crest, 1 Fremont Rd, Newark, DE 19711 Start: 9:00 AM Warm-up: 8:30 AM End: 12:00 PM (estimated) Last dual meet of the season! Here we go! Who is going to get a best time? Meet theme - MV Spirit Wear! Where it all - old, new, whatever you have. Everyone arrive by 8:15am and check-in with the coach at the entrance. Warm-up at 8:30am Bring all of your gear and be sure to bring everything back. All MV families are expected to pick up trash and put the chairs back where you found them.
Wed Jul 12 2023	Beat the Ref! After the meet Start: 8:30 PM End: 9:30 PM Our multitasking Starter & Referee this summer, Brian James, wants to challenge the kids after the last home meet on Wednesday. He will swim up to 10 races, 25 fly and 25 free against the kids. Here’s the trick, if the child wins the race, Brian will pay the winner $10 and the swim team will receive $10. If Brian wins the race, he pays the swim team $5. 18U go at the start, 14U kids (not Brian) get 2 sec head start, 12U kids (again, not Brian) get 3 sec head start, 10U kids get 4 sec head start. 8U kids get 6 sec head start. Brian will swim 3 or 4 heats of fly (swimmers swim same stroke) the rest are freestyle. 5 swimmers per heat(including Brian), up to 10 races. First come first serve. Be sure to RSVP the person who wants to swim against Brian. This will be at the end of meet, which will be around 8:30 because Brian runs a tight ship and is an efficient meet runner. Who is going to beat the Ref?
